When we first stepped in to Daniel Vosovic’s studio for a closer viewing of his A/W 2011 collection, we took in the dainty frocks, blouses and wool jackets, noting the collection’s chicly feminine feel. We remember the Courtney Love vibe we got from the runway presentation during #NYFW and were instantly rethinking our assessment – this is a collection for Courtney’s well-behaved cousin from Connecticut. This is what we thought, that is, until we had a little chat with Daniel. The collection, he informed us, was inspired by the frontier woman of the 1850’s… and S&M. Wait, what? Remember that pretty, floral-looking print used on demure-looking dresses and separates? It’s actually made up of stripper heels, zippered masks and handcuffs! “It’s always a ‘wink’ and a ‘nod,’” Vosovic told us, with – you guessed it – a wink and a nod. Click ahead for a close up of that naughty print, plus more collection secrets you won’t want to tell your mother about!
We’ve watched Dawn Richard from the very beginning; starting with the grueling audition process on MTV’s Making The Band for Diddy’s all female pop group, Danity Kane, to even watching her fall in love with Que from Day 26. We’ve watched Dawn grow as an artist and evolve into a fashion superstar, with the fabulous help from celebrity stylist Ugo Mozie. The #factor got a chance to speak with Miss Richard to discuss her latest mixtape #ATellTaleHeart, Diddy’s styling tips and her solo studio album in the works.
