Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Designer Isn’t Sarah Burton

After months of speculation that Alexander McQueen’s successor, Sarah Burton would helm Kate Middleton’s dress, rumors are swirling that the princess to be has asked UK designer Sophie Cranston of Libelula to design the epic gown.

Reports are just leaking now, almost two weeks to the day – Friday, April 29th, of who Middleton is wearing although the place has kept it under wraps for the past couple of months due to “protect Cranston and her family from media scrutiny for as long as possible, and to allow her the freedom to create the wedding gown of Katherine’s dreams without additional pressures and distractions” per a source from Grazia.

Yet, although Cranston is a bit of an unknown to most of the world, she designed CNN’s Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden’s wedding dress last year and is a favorite to the Kate. Cranston found Libelula in 2002.

Now, that Cranston is a bonafide fashion star as of now let the frenzy and scrutiny begin!
