As we were were waiting for Project Runway Season 6 winner Irina Shabayeva’s Fall/Winter 2011 Presentation to begin, we perused the Shabayeva-covered EDGE Magazine provided to us. In it we learned that our fave season 6 contestant has been super successful in the bridal world (totally random for those who watched the show, where her aesthetic was edgy and contemporary). Thus, we were a little bit more prepared for the onslaught of evening wear we were about to see – boy does Irina love a snowflake gown! We thought her gowns were beautiful and well constructed, and we were intrigued by the idea of pairing them with knitwear. However, if we could have made our own Irina Shabayeva collection, it would have consisted of mainly knitwear (which we found phenomenal) and much less of the gowns, which by the fifth bright red dress we were getting a little tired of. But see for yourself in our footage of the show closing, complete with a random (and beautiful) royal blue gown that didn’t quite make it on the runway beforehand!
