Last night was the series premiere of the much anticipated spin off, “It’s A Brad, Brad World,” and we must say we weren’t to sure what to expect. Was it going to be a lesser copy of “The Rachel Zoe Project?” We’re glad to say it wasn’t. Brad has an energy and sense of humor that definitely makes the show his own. Here are our top 10 highlights from the premiere episode!
1. The opening set the tone. Brad and his boyfriend Gary are giving their dog Penelope a bath because she has flees. They are too adorbs. Plus, we find out he is working out of his garage which Gary refers to as tomb.
2. Brad gets told he is doing a shoot with Diane Lane. Unfortunately, at the last minute she changes her mind and goes with another stylist. Brad says “I will look at what she’s wearing…and probably won’t like it.”
3. However he does have a job with Paper Magazine where not only he is styling the shoot..he is also the inspiration, and one of the models. Here he sports an all leopard Givenchy suit while jumping in the air with male models that are dressed in Brad-esque fashions. “One’s going to end up in short shorts….maybe two.”
4. He tells us his side of the story concerning him leaving Zoe Inc. He mentions that they don’t speak and that he probably knows why but thinks “the reason is unjust.” In addition, he hasn’t met baby Skylar and that is because he hasn’t been invited to.
5. Brad has a bonding moment with the photographer at the Paper Magazine shoot about “growing up gay.” It’s super touching.
6. When Brad is in between jobs he runs around with Jasper and Penelope, goes to the gym, and orders nonfat lattes. However, he does later state “Looking cute won’t pay the bills.”
7. Brad also finds out that he will be dressing Kerri Hilson as well as Jessica Alba for the Met ball. He has a fitting with Hilson at her hotel room to avoid working out of his garage. After many options, they decide on a fabulous Versace gown. He later explains to Gary that he has been under more dresses than Tommy Lee.
8. Gary accompanies Brad to the Us Weekly “Hot in Hollywood” party. Brad is dressed in a black and silver Dolce and Gabbanna sequin jacket, and describes Gary’s fashion as more gentleman-like. “I’m like the J-Lo version of Gary.”
9. Seeing Gary on his cell phone while Brad was on the red carpet made us wonder…is Gary the new Rodger?
10. Brad claims that he is going to probably have to wear a dress to top his bedazzled blazer.
Coming up this season: Adventures in Milan, lots of color-blocking and of course, tears.
But how does this measure up to Zoe? We’re actually excited at the prospect that not EVERYTHING has an easy, happy ending here – the fact that poor Brad got dropped by a client, and didn’t miraculously get that client back and dress her perfectly at the end of the episode is actually kind of intriguing. We’ll be tuning in next week for more Brad!
