With only a few more days left of Fashion Week, we are reveling in masterpieces we have seen. Here’s what we love from yesterday: Rodarte, Badgley Mischka and Vera Wang. The theme behind the Rodarte fall collection was the Nebraska and Kansas plains. This is apparent with the wheat fields printed at the bottom of dresses, long prairie-coats, along with quilt like patterns on leather pieces. Near the end of the collection, bright ruby dresses shown through the mute pallet. Why? According to Kate Mulleavy, “”We couldn’t go to Nebraska and Kansas and not do a Wizard of Oz reference.”
Badgley Mischka was all about the glitz and glamour for fall. One shoulder dresses covered in glitter, long, bright hued gloves, and tons of chiffon and satin made it feel like award season had taken over the runway. Can we say Oscar gowns. But it wasn’t all for evening. Paired with trousers, sweaters, and jackets made it easy to translate into daywear.
Furs, feathers, pleats, and shear, revealing chiffon made a gorgeous collection at Vera Wang. The dark pallet mixed with the vests and coats made the collection appear edgy, but the flirty, see through fabrics keep a perfect amount of femininity.
