Imagine a fashion show gone James Cameron a la Avatar and surprise (!), you’ve got Burberry’s FX heavy fashion show in Beijing last week.
For its first event in China in 10 years and the celebration of a new Beijing flagship store, Burberry gathered more than 1,000 guests in front of the Beijing Television Center and featured state of the art virtual image technologies – we’re taking holograms, projections and animations oh my! Models including Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn were joined by life-like holograms of themselves and transformed into snow then disappeared before returning in interchanging outfits while British rockers Keane performed.
“This global event in Beijing was a true expression of Burberry today bringing together all the elements of our multi faceted brand using the most innovative technology and the best of British music, connecting all our communities and celebrating this magnificent country with viewers all over the world.” Burberry’s Christopher Bailey mentioned while hosting the event.
This isn’t the first time fashion met F/X, if you can recall Ralph Lauren’s 10th year anniversary of RalphLauren.com, the megabrand shut down Madison Ave. in New York for a 4D extravaganza.
